Carolyn L. Ellis – Senior Pastor

Faithful, anointed, virtuous, and a born spiritual leader, Pastor Carolyn Ellis has demonstrated her commitment to serving the kingdom of God. With 48 years in ministry and leadership, Pastor Ellis founded the Center of Hope Ministries in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This ministry was birth from the vision and dedication to reconcile men and women of all ages to Christ. Throughout her ministry she has touch the lives of many. This woman of God has the vibrant and charismatic speaking ability to appeal to audiences all over the world. Her dynamic gift in the music ministry is just another touch of God’s grace upon her life.

 
Pastor Ellis founded the Center of Hope Ministries in 2002 with 12 strong members. The Center of Hope Ministries started without a church building, but carried the zeal and mission to provide hope as well as a life changing experience to the community.  Since the inception of this powerful ministry, the congregation has grown with various ministries and services provided to the public.
 

Pastor Ellis has served in pastoral ministry throughout the United States. She has traveled all over the world. Her church history started in the Church of God and later served in the Church of God in Christ. The Center of Hope Ministries Church of God is headquartered in Cleveland, Tennessee. Pastor Ellis is known for her entrepreneur and successful business skills. She administered TOP Christian Learning Center in Fort Lauderdale, a Christian day care and learning center. Pastor Ellis has provided leadership development in several capacities: Founder and President of Clergy Women United, Inc. and Female Pastor’s Alliance, President of Women’s Ministries, President of Interdenominational Ministers’ Wives and Ministers’ Widows Coterie of South Broward County, Florida, Founder of Community Tea Hour and Divine Divas Empowerment Ministry, Women’s Ministries State Evangelism Coordinator, State Women’s Ministries Board and the International Black Ministries Women’s Ministries Board.

 
In addition to being a powerful and spiritual woman, Pastor Ellis is a devoted mother of two daughters (Khadija and Karrah (Taji), grandmother of two granddaughters (Aiyana & Jayde), one grandson (Brittish) and great grandmother of one grandson (Carson). Pastor Ellis’s admiration and love for ministry was started from childhood. She is the third of eleven born to Deacon Simeon (who is deceased) and Elder Sarah Huntley who serves with her in ministry. Pastor Ellis’s Christian Education includes: General courses of study, Lee University, Cleveland, Tennessee, B.A. in Biblical Studies, Logos Christian College, Jacksonville, Florida; Licentiate in Theology, and Overstone Theological College, London, England.
